Experience one of Nepal's most dramatic and culturally immersive treks—the Manaslu Circuit. This 13-day adventure circles the world’s eighth-highest peak, Mt. Manaslu (8,163 m), offering breathtaking Himalayan views, remote Tibetan-influenced villages, and the exhilarating crossing of the Larkya La Pass. Ideal for trekkers seeking a less-crowded yet equally rewarding alternative to the Annapurna Circuit.

The Manaslu Circuit Trek is a 13-day journey that takes you through one of Nepal’s most scenic and culturally rich regions, encircling the majestic Mt. Manaslu (8,163 m). Starting from the lowland village of Machha Khola, the trek ascends gradually through lush forests, ancient Buddhist villages, and rugged mountain terrain before culminating in the thrilling crossing of Larkya La Pass (5,106 m). With two essential acclimatization days and optional side trips to Manaslu Base Camp and the Tibetan border, this itinerary ensures both adventure and safety. Each day blends natural beauty with cultural discovery, making it a perfect alternative to the more crowded classic trails.

The best times are spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November), when the weather is stable, skies are clear, and trails are dry.

The trek typically takes 13 to 16 days, depending on your itinerary and acclimatization days.

You'll need three permits:

RAP (Restricted Area Permit): USD 100–75 (first week, varies by season)
MCAP (Manaslu Conservation Area Permit): USD 30
ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area Permit): USD 30

It’s a strenuous trek requiring good physical fitness and stamina. Prior multi-day trekking experience is highly recommended.

The highest point is Larkya La Pass (5,106 m). It’s challenging due to cold, altitude, and long ascent/descent but manageable with good preparation and acclimatization.

Yes, teahouses are available throughout, offering basic lodging, local meals, charging points (for a fee), and sometimes hot showers.

Manaslu is less crowded, more remote, and culturally rich, offering a wilder feel than Annapurna and fewer tourists than EBC.

A licensed guide is mandatory due to the restricted area. Trekking solo is not permitted unless through a registered agency.

Expect dramatic mountain vistas, deep river gorges, alpine forests, Tibetan Buddhist villages, monasteries, and yak pastures.

Yes, altitude sickness is a concern. Prevent it by ascending slowly, staying hydrated, taking rest days, and considering altitude medication like Diamox.

It starts at Machha Khola and ends at Tilje. You reach both by jeep or bus from Kathmandu (7–9 hours drive).

Yes! You can extend to Tsum Valley before Samagaon or exit via Annapurna Circuit to continue trekking westward.

Pack layered clothing, sleeping bag (-10°C), down jacket, trekking poles, water purifier, headlamp, basic meds, and toiletries.

There’s no strict age limit, but trekkers should be in good health, able to walk 6–8 hours daily, and be comfortable at altitude.

On average, USD 1,200–1,600 per person including guide/porter, permits, meals, transport, and accommodation (excluding international flights).
